We work to create innovative and interesting pieces that extend our discussions beyond the printed page. Our staff consists of English majors and Creative Writing Certificate students dedicated to creating quality content that engages with anyone who has a love for the written, spoken, or digitized word.
Hothouse is the official literary journal for the Department of English at the University of Texas at Austin. It is produced by, and features the work of, undergraduate Texans. Hothouse offers staff members the opportunity to learn about the logistics of putting together a literary journal from the ground up, and every step of the process, from design and layout to reading and selecting submissions, is an integrative and collaborative effort. The journal’s main goal is showcase the diverse talent within the department by publishing exceptional student poetry and prose.
